Meet The (Re)Founders
After moving to Glasgow to complete a degree in Art History, I took a bold leap to New York in 1999 and got my first job in marketing a music magazine: SPIN Magazine. Later, moving to San Francisco, I worked on ReadyMade Magazine and then later moved to London, where I worked in creative advertising for a number of music and lifestyle titles.
In 2007, I made the move back ‘home’. And along came the vintage pieces I’d picked up along the way. Finding a dearth of vintage stores, I was inspired to create a space where beautiful but old objects gained new life as part of the next stage of their journey.
ReFound was then born! It was 2010.
I set about collecting artists to help get these unwanted pieces on their way to a more desirable life. The ReFound Artists Network now makes even the most unpromising piece of furniture look appealing and chic by giving it a more contemporary style and a new lease of life.
I launched our first pop-up shop later that year to test the idea and sell these wonderful new furniture-come-art pieces. We became permanent in Sept 2012.
ReFound is pleased to be part of the Creative Industries Innovation Fund. Granted an award in July 2012 by DCAL & the Arts Council for the Creative businesses programme (Creative Industries Innovation Fund), ReFound is now developing the brand and increasing our format of pop-up’s and refound works-of-furniture!
